Edmund Burke and William Blake
Set me down, put my head on a silver plate.
Tuesdays become Thursdays and jumble my mind
While alcohol becomes important
And homework's a waste of time.
The words blur into pictures
And pictures blur into words
But no matter how much I drink
Nothing's calming my nerves.

My head is a mess
Askew with anxiety and self-doubt.
Everyday activities are challenging
When you instead choose to think with your mouth.
The toast is in the fridge
And the milk is in the pantry.
Now everything I eat is either
Hot or too cold for my fancy.
The iron is left plugged up,
The water tap still running
Yet I wait on the porch
For a man who's never coming.

Edmund Blake and William Burke
I started driving in Georgia; now I'm lost in New York.
So listen with your eyes
And look with your ears;
Life is Jeopardy: Unanswered questions of
'Whens?' 'Whos?' 'Whats?' "Wheres?'
I trip up the stairs and fall down the sidewalk;
I screwed up, but we're still welcoming
If only you just knock.
William Burke and Edmund Blake
I'll take what I deserve: Put my head on a silver plate.
What's this? Two in one day?
I'm feeling generous.

Also, I kind of really like this one. Day 20 and 21 (can that count?) and I'm just proud of it. I done goofed up and wrote Edmund Burke on my essay every time it was supposed William Blake. So I'm sure I failed that test. I keep thinking that I deserve to be punished, like I did this to myself. I deserve to get a failing grade, I deserve to be hurt. Perhaps that's bad? But I've been thinking I'm a bit of a masochist; like I always tell people that I'm a music major because I like suffering. I'm starting to believe that it might be true.

Anyways, enough talk about mental health or whatever; I'm sure I'm fine. I wanted to do off rhymes or near rhymes with this one since Burke and Blake are very close names and it's an honest mistake to get them mixed up when both are filed in your head and you just happen to pick whichever five letter B name you think of first. But the off rhymes were kind of fun and almost unsettling I think at times. Also, mixed some things up intentionally like listening with eyes and looking with ears because it goes along with the Burke and Blake mix up, I think.

Anyways, I hope you like it.

You're not the only one who's had names messed up.

I had an issue mixing the names Preston/Prescott (Prescott was a rider who warned colonists of a British landing in Boston).
